Kids Day 1

Kids Day 1

Smash Burgers

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80% Lean/ 20% Fat)
  • 2 tbsp Loot N’ Booty What’s your Beef
  • You'll need some burger buns and your favorite slices of cheese!
  • Toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard, mayo (optional)
  • Butter or oil for the griddle/skillet

Prepare the Beef: Divide the ground beef into 8 small equal portions. Gently shape them into loose balls without pressing them too much. Now is a good time to sprinkle seasoning over your meat!

Heat the Griddle/Skillet: With an adult's help, preheat a cast-iron griddle or heavy skillet over medium-high heat until it's very hot. Add a little butter or oil to coat the surface.

Smash the Burgers: Place 2-3 beef balls on the hot griddle/skillet. Using a spatula and piece of parchment paper, press down firmly on each ball to flatten it into a thin patty. Hold the pressure for about 10 seconds to ensure a good sear. Season your burger again after you’ve pressed it down.

Cook the Patties: Cook the patties for about 2-3 minutes on the first side until the edges are crispy and browned. Flip the patties and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side.

Add Cheese: If using cheese, place a slice on each patty after flipping and allow it to melt while the second side cooks.

Toast the Buns: While the patties are cooking, toast the slider buns on the griddle/skillet or in a toaster until they are golden brown.

Assemble the Burgers: Place each patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Add your desired toppings and condiments, then top with the other half of the bun.

Serve: Serve the kid-sized smash burgers hot with a side of fruit, veggies, or their favorite snack.

  3. Assemble the Sandwich: Toast the bread slices. Place the cheese slice on one piece of toast once they come out of the toaster. Add the cooked egg and bacon slices on top!

Serve: Cut it in half if desired and watch dad enjoy his sandwich!
